Pentecost Sunday
This is the start of something new. Something amazing. The Holy Spirit comes on the disciples and they are brave and bold and never, ever alone again. The Holy Spirit was given to us by Jesus. We just say, Come Holy Spirit!
On Sunday…
We started on our ‘Jesus Team’ bunting and Alisa told us the story of Matthias being chosen to join the remaining 11 disciples. We talked about asking God to help us make decisions and that it’s always good to ask and that God trusts us to make good decisions.
NEVER ALONE!
Challenge: In me
Make some ‘Jesus team’ bunting like Aria’s or a banner and hang it up somewhere - take a photo and send it to Sarah.
Worship Dance Party
Worship isn’t just singing… Observe the wind this week. Take time to watch how it moves through the trees and the grass. See how it blows through your hair and clothing. Visualize the Holy Spirit blowing around you, surrounding you.
Worship isn’t fabulous on Zoom and so I’ve put together a playlist on Spotify that we’d have used if we were face to face.
This coming Sunday
Pentecost means “fiftieth day” and is celebrated 50 days after Easter. On Pentecost the Holy Spirit was given to the followers of Jesus and the Good News about Jesus was spoken to everyone, in lots of different languages.
Read what happened in Acts 2:1-21
Learn together
Everyone who calls on the Name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21
Let’s Pray
Dear God, thank you for sending the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. Give us hearts to feel your presence with us every day. Amen.
Prep for Sunday - thank you!
Print out the spiral or draw it onto paper.
Question of the week
Ask yourself, as a sibling, as a parent, ask a friend - even ask a stranger…
Do you know how to speak another language? Can you teach me how to say Hello in that language?
